Kim is originally from Indiana and has lived in four different regions in the U.S.. She started out her teaching career at an American military base in Baumholder, Germany and has also taught in Atlanta with Atlanta Public Schools and was a founding teacher at KIPP Atlanta Collegiate. Kim joined the KIPP San José Collegiate team in 2016 and joined the administration team in 2019.
She is a proud daughter of Vietnamese refugees whose parents came to the U.S. at the end of the Vietnam War. She earned a B.A. in Teaching in Secondary Education from Ball State University and a M.A. from Columbia University.
Kim loves the San José community so much with the large Vietnamese population. She is excited to be leading KSJC with an incredible team!
