REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR NAVIGATE PROJECT 

Notice is hereby given that KIPP Bay Area Public Schools (“KIPP Bay Area”) is seeking General Contractors (“Contractors”) wishing to submit a Prequalification Package in response to a Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) for the Navigate at Mount Pleasant project (“Project”).  This prequalification will apply to other projects developed by KIPP Bay Area within the East Side Union High School District during the twelve months following the completion of the prequalification process. Contractors that were pre-qualified for work with KIPP BAY AREA for projects in the East Side Union High School District (“EUHSD”) District in 2022 are automatically pre-qualified for projects developed by KIPP BAY AREA within the EUHSD District during the twelvemonths following the completion of this prequalification process.

The Project is located at the KIPP Navigate campus located on the Mt. Pleasant High
School campus at 1750 S. White Rd, San Jose, CA. The project involves the construction of 4 interior rooms in existing standard (24×40) classroom portables along with a limited scope of exterior fence work. Interior rooms will include pass through ducting, modifications to lighting and switching/lighting zones, and modifications to the fire alarm system.

The successful bidder will be required to be bound by the Project Labor Agreement dated August 17, 2017, by and between ESUHSD and the Santa Clara & San Benito Counties Building & Construction Trades Council, AFL-CIO.

It is mandatory that all interested Contractors submit a fully complete response to the
RFQ, inclusive of all materials requested. Contractors will need to be approved by KIPP Bay Area to be on the final pre-qualified list in order to receive any future Request for Proposals (“RFP”).  Fully completed Prequalification Packages shall be submitted to KIPP Bay Area no later than March 31, 2023, at 5:00pm PST. Instructions for submitting the Prequalification Package are included in the materials and text below.

Successfully pre-qualified Contractors will be invited to respond to any future RFPs
issued by KIPP Bay Area for projects developed by KIPP Bay Area within the East Side Union High School District, including the above-mentioned project at 1750 S. White Road, San Jose, CA. As set forth above, Contractors that were pre-qualified for work with KIPP BAY AREA for projects in the EUHSD District in 2022 are automatically pre-qualified for projects developed by KIPP BAY AREA within the EUHSD District during the twelve months following the completion of this prequalification process.
