Marie Kawase Huxley is KIPP Northern California’s Chief Schools Officer, overseeing academics, including teaching and learning, curriculum, school-facing talent development and performance management, Special Education, and school culture.

Prior to her current role, Marie served as the Chief Strategy Officer at Attuned Education Partners where she facilitated district and network leadership teams through strategic planning, including clarifying vision and core beliefs and developing a multi-year equity-centered strategic plan.

From 2015 to 2021, Marie previously served as Chief of Schools at KIPP Northern California where she set and led regional priorities with innovative strategies to launch and operate joyful and academically excellent schools.

Marie began her career as a high school social studies and Spanish teacher in Los Angeles. She is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara and also holds an M.A. in Education from UCLA’s Teacher Education Program and an M.A. in Educational Administration from San Francisco State University.
