AIP Hosts for Summer 2019
As a reminder, this year we’re hosting two types of internships; Category A and Category B. These categories will help you identify your top three choices and you may select to any internship you feel you are qualified for.
Category A internships For students with 0-1 years of professional work experience. During these summer internships, students will work on general office projects. These opportunities are meant to give students exposure to working in an office setting.
Category B internships For students that have 1+ years of professional work experience. Students will be competitive candidates for these summer internships if they have the specific skill sets requested by the job description from previous work experience. If you’ve previously participated in AIP, you’re likely a great candidate.
Galileo Learning

Title: Development and Fundraising Summer Fellow

Internship Description: The Development Team Intern will be responsible for collaborating with team members on a variety of projects to help prepare for our busy fall season of events and proposal submissions. S/he will play a vital role in the overall success of the department at the beginning of our new fiscal year by supporting key activities of the team including grant writing, donor research, and event preparation. This position will be located at our Regional Support Office in Oakland. The Development Team Intern will report to the Communication and Donor Relations Manager, Miranda Shepherd, and will work collaboratively with all members of the Team. Key responsibilities include:
Grant proposal/report writing support:
● Prepare templates for fall reports, identifying format for report, grant goals, and information needed.
● Draft content for reports and work with schools and alumni to gather personal stories for grant applications.
● Donor research: conduct online research of individuals and organizations that donate to education, utilize donor research databases such as Foundation Center, iWave, and Wealth Engine to build out giving capacity profiles.
● Event preparation: Help the team prepare for fall events, such as school tours; this might include preparing template communications to be sent to board members and guests, guest list clean-up and input on invitation language and design, as needed.
Database support:
● Update donor communications and assigned tasks in Salesforce, support database cleanup.
● Other projects as needed, TBD e.g., Choosing photos to use in donor facing communications, gathering quotes from social media, organizing resource materials, putting together donor packets, etc.

Tipping Point Community
Title: Intern, Chronic Homelessness Initiative + Housing Portfolio
