Meal Access Information for Families

Student nutrition is very important and during this time of school closure there are locations throughout the Bay Area that are providing breakfast & lunch for all school age children. 

  • All meals are meant to be picked up and taken home for consumption–not consumed on-site.

For families from KIPP Bayview Elementary, KIPP Bayview Academy, KIPP SF Bay, and KIPP SF College Prep.

 

SFUSD – Various locations
Pick-up hours: Monday & Wednesdays ONLY; 11:00a -12:00 pm

Families can pick up multiple days worth of food at a time. Pick up breakfast, lunch, fresh fruit, vegetables, milk, and shelf-stable meals to take home. Pick up outside of the building. No identification or proof of school enrollment is required. Children DO NOT need to be present.

SFUSD – Various locations
Pick up hours: Tuesday and Thursday, hour vary by location

All meals are free!

Tuesdays: Free Meals Available for SFUSD Students & Siblings
On Tuesdays, 5 days’ worth of meals, including breakfast, lunch, supper, fresh fruits and vegetables, and milk is available.

Thursdays: Free Meals Available for All Children 18 & Younger
On Thursdays, 2 days’ worth of meals, plus snacks, fresh fruits and vegetables, and milk is available. SFUSD families can pick up free meals one or both days!

For families from KIPP Bridge Upper & Rising.

Various School Sites
Pick-up hours: Mondays and Thursdays, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

Sankofa Elementary, Hoover Elementary, West Oakland Middle, Oakland High, Garfield Elementary, Bret Harte Middle, Life Academy/United for Success, Coliseum College Prep, Madison Park Upper, Fremont High, Castlemont High, Elmhurst United.

Food is available to any OUSD student or family, or any Oakland child 18 or under. Please bring a grocery bag or cooler to bring food home for the week. Children DO NOT need to be present to receive meals.

All children in Oakland – 18 years old and younger. Meals are available at 17 pick-up locations throughout the city. Families no longer have to prove their students attend District-run schools. Students attending charter schools, private schools, or homeschooled are all eligible.

Social Distancing measures and face coverings are required. Kids do not need to be present to pick up food. Multiple days worth of food can be picked up at once. (Three meals for each weekday, and two meals for each weekend day.)

Pick-up days are Mondays and Thursdays, between 8am and 1pm.

For families from KIPP Summit & KIPP King.

 

KIPP Summit Academy: Serving 5 days of meals every Tuesday from 9am to 1pm. Meals are available to all children under 18 or all family members over 18 with a physical or mental disability. Drive up to a table outside the cafeteria to receive meals in your car. Children do not need to be present. 

KIPP King: Serving 5 days of meals (breakfast and lunch) every Friday from 11am to 3pm for families of KIPP King. Children do not need to be present. No meal service December 24 – December 31

For families of KIPP Valiant and KIPP Esperanza

 

Meals are free to anyone in the community under the age of 18 years old. Children do not need to be present. For additional details, including pickup times, visit the district website.

Pick-up hours: Monday, Wednesday, & Friday; 10:30 am – 11:30 am
Drive through parking-lot distribution. Remain in cars.

Breakfast and lunch (frozen entrees to be heated up at home). Roosevelt will also provide supper. Families can pick up multiple days’ worth of food on Wednesdays. Adults can pick up meals for children without children being present.

For families from KIPP Heartwood, KIPP Heritage, KIPP Navigate, KIPP Prize, & KIPP San Jose Collegiate.

 

In/Around Alum Rock District
 
KIPP Heartwood and KIPP Prize: Wednesday 11-2 pm. Meals are free to anyone in the community under the age of 18 years old. Children do not need to be present. No meal service December 24 – December 31. 

 

In/Around Franklin Mckinley School District

Meals will be offered Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Meals are free to anyone in the community under the age of 18 years old. Children do not need to be present. Included in the meals will be breakfast for the next day, lunch, snack, and supper. For additional information, visit the district website.

 

Various East Side Union Schools


Pick-up hours: M-F; 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Drive up/pick-up service at all schools.

Foothill HS, Andrew Hill HS, Calero HS, Evergreen HS, Independence HS, James Lick HS, Mt. Pleasant HS, Oak Grove HS, Piedmont Hills HS, Santa Teresa HS, Silver Creek HS, WC Overfelt HS, Yerba Buena HS

The above schools will provide meal pick-up of cold grab-and-go lunches. Adults can now pick up meals for children without children being present.

3 breakfasts and 3 lunches will be served for each child. The above schools will provide meal pick-up of grab-and-go lunches. Please bring your own grocery bag to make carrying meals easier. Adults can now pick up meals for children without children being present.

In/Around Santa Clara County
 
Free breakfast and lunch meal kits for 7 days will be offered each Friday to everyone 18 years and under, until further notice. Children do not need to be present. Select sites will also be distributing free supper and snacks on Tuesdays. For additional details, including pickup times, visit the district website.
