Our Impact
We are committed to creating schools where all students can thrive, and we closely track student attrition to ensure we’re keeping our students with us and meeting our mission.
Our elementary students develop curiosity and empathy while cultivating early literacy skills. Middle schoolers develop critical thinking skills while discovering their voice. Our high schoolers have access to AP classes through our AP for All initiative (our seniors pass AP exams at over twice the CA average!) and encouragement to pursue their passion, purpose and plan for what’s next.
A quality teacher can have a critical impact on the success of a student. Our successful teacher residency program pairs teachers with high performing mentors and course work with a STEM and Special Education focus. This results in highly effective teachers and leaders in our public schools.
We are is committed to helping our students navigate the academic and financial challenges of college. KIPP Forward supports more than 1,000 KIPP Northern California Alumni with a comprehensive plan of action from college to career. Our high schoolers have a 93% matriculation rate and are over four times more likely to graduate from high school than their peers.
The pandemic is making the demand for our services all the more urgent. We’ve strengthened our remote learning plan to provide offline and online distance learning strategies for all of our schools. We’ve provided Chromebook computers for students, and hotspots for families without at-home internet to ensure all students can access distance learning curriculum.
We are taking on a five-year plan to increase student enrollment and building a pipeline of KIPP TK-12 schools. By meeting our families where they are – more students will have access to a KIPP education in the neighborhoods where they live. We are opening a new high school in East Palo Alto this fall. Launching a TK-12 cluster of KIPP schools in Stockton, and adding an additional 1,000 seats in our existing schools.
